OpenAudio specification
Valimo rebuild 0.1.0 — an initial development baseline, expected as a product in 2027.
Purpose and scope
OpenAudio is being rebuilt as a native Valimo Business product. Earlier OpenAudio v0.349.0 is retained as reference material. The new line starts with a smaller implementation and qualifies each capability independently.
Available in this baseline
- Import browser-supported audio files and play up to eight tracks together.
- Play, pause, stop, and seek, with gain, mute, pan, and master volume controls.
- Load a built-in audio demo.
- Import or export project settings, and save account-owned settings after sign-in.
- Access the specification and saved settings through the Valimo plugin.
Project persistence
Saved projects contain layout, filenames, tempo, and mixer settings. Audio files are not uploaded or embedded. Keep original audio files and re-import them when restoring a project. Built-in demo tracks can be reconstructed.
Boundaries
The baseline allows eight tracks, audio files up to 20 MiB, clips up to ten minutes, and a bounded decoded-audio memory budget. Format support depends on the browser. Tempo does not time-stretch imported samples. Recording, MIDI, effects, sequencing, and arrangement editing remain planned.
Qualification and lineage
This is an experimental development checkpoint. Engine, project validation, ownership, and management boundaries are tested separately. Live audio output and browser interactions require device testing before broader qualification.
